Pokémon Center Kagawa

A leisurely day in Kagawa. Pikachu stretches out on a yawning Slowpoke beside the water, while Smoliv watches nearby. Across the grass, Slowking, Psyduck, Smeargle and Sylveon join the gathering, with a windmill, distant bridge and olive trees completing the sunny landscape.

Created to celebrate the opening of Pokémon Center Kagawa, the artwork imagines Pokémon enjoying the region’s scenery at their own unhurried pace. Slowpoke has a special connection to the prefecture: its Japanese name, Yadon, echoes “udon”, the noodles for which Kagawa is famous. That wordplay helped make Slowpoke the region’s Pokémon ambassador.
